 Agenda

  • Welcome and recap
    • Brief review of key takeaways from the previous DA sessions
      Objectives for the follow-up discussion
  • Top Challenges around Delegated Authority
  • Data Quality and Transparency Issues
    • Delegated authority relies heavily on third-party data (e.g., bordereaux, claims data), but this data is often incomplete, delayed, or poor quality.
The market push for real-time data (e.g., Lloyd’s DA SATS, DDM) is still not fully mature.
Complex, fragmented processes and legacy systems that can't handle modern data demands.
  • Capacity Management and Profitability Pressures
    • DA business is under pressure to prove value in a hardening market where capacity providers are more selective.
Syndicates and carriers need to demonstrate that DA portfolios deliver profit and are well-governed.
The need to differentiate "good" coverholders/MGAs from poor performers.

  • Technology, Digitisation and Process Inefficiencies
    • Fragmented, manual, and legacy systems still dominate DA operations, making end-to-end visibility difficult.
Market initiatives like Blueprint Two are in progress but implementation is complex and slow.
Automation of bordereaux processing, claims data intake, and compliance workflows is patchy across the market.
  • Market Competition and MGA/DA Landscape Shifts
    • Proliferation of MGAs — many with strong data, tech, and niche expertise — are challenging traditional DA business models.
Pressure to partner with the right MGAs who add value, rather than act as mere distributors.
Market consolidation (e.g., M&A of MGAs, broker-owned MGAs) changes dynamics and sometimes threatens direct carrier relationships.
